Chisholm and Spence

Home > On Record - Chisholm & Spence

The partnership of Colin Chisholm and Brian Spence continued following the split of Bilbo. They produced one album with a couple of single releases, with Colin (left in the picture below) handling the vocals and the drums (although he had never played them before) and Brian on guitar and writing credits.

Chisholm & Spence (CBS S CBS 84198) - 1980 - credits

All songs were written by Brian Spence, with the exception of "Dirty Work" which was written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen, of Steely Dan fan.

Chisholm and Spence InsertTo the left is a copy of the insert that came with the white label (pre-release) version. It is hard to see on this image, however, if you click on the image to get an actual size version, although tatty you can see notes that will eventually make the finished sleeve notes.

Information includes track titles, track length, track writer (Brian in the main) and the track publishers (April Music).

Don William Tour photoIn 1998 Chisholm and Spence resurfaced to support Don Williams during his UK tour, playing an acoustic set; a live favourite of Brian's. The picture to the right is taken from Don William's web site (with Colin on the left and Brian on the right). However, was this the best picture Don Williams' people could find of our pair of heroes? Do they look bored or what (especially Colin) or did Don William's management not want the competition?
